Bio
Susan Crosbie, EdD, is a returning English Language Fellow at the University of Savannakhet. After working in South Africa for seven years and realizing the need for global English education, she returned to graduate school in 2001 to pursue her doctorate in educational policy and administration at the University of Minnesota, USA. Before arriving in Laos in October 2023, she was a Virtual English Language Fellow [VELF] in Brazil, India, Indonesia, and Russia from her home in Salalah, Oman, and has previously taught in Thailand, South Africa, Kuwait, and Oman. She enjoys the lovely traditions of SE Asia and continues to celebrate their joy. Her research interests include cultural preservation through indigenous language and the evolution of English Language Learners as 21st-century learners. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, kayaking, playing pickleball, and walking on the beach.
